U.S., China agree to draft resolution on North Korea

The United States and China have reached an agreement in regards to UN sanctions against North Korea for its recent hydrogen bomb test and satellite launch. CNN reports that the sanctions will be stronger than any previous set of sanctions, and that both countries are in agreement about the need to curb North Korea’s nuclear activities. While the language of the sanctions is still being finalized, the ability of the U.S. and China to cooperate on this topic implies that, despite, the antagonism between them over the South China Sea, they are still able to work together in some areas of foreign policy.
