Top intelligence official: ISIS to attempt U.S. attacks this year

Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said that ISIS will attempt to conduct attacks in the U.S. and Europe in 2016, and that they are hiding militants among refugees in order to gain access to target countries. CNN reports that, during testimony before the Senate Armed Services Committee, Clapper said that ISIS is capable of creating high quality fake passports and that approximately 60 people were arrested in the U.S. during 2015 due to suspected links to the terrorist organization. He also mentioned that, while ISIS is the foremost terrorist threat, al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula is becoming more of a threat as well.
