Syrian govt. accepts halt to 'combat operations' in line with U.S.-Russian plan

The Syrian government has agreed to the cessation of hostilities agreement that the U.S. and the Russia jointly created. Reuters reports that President Bashar al-Assad’s regime will be consulting with Russia to determine which opposition groups will be covered by the agreement. Terrorist groups such as the Islamic State and the al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusra Front are not included in the cessation of hostilities, and there are concerns that their activities will sabotage any hope for a lasting peace growing out of the current agreement.
