North Korea to test nuclear warhead, state media reports

The North Korean state-run media agency has announced that Kim Jong Un has given the order for another nuclear test to be performed as soon as possible. CNN reports that the extent of North Korea’s nuclear capabilities is difficult to assess, as the regime has a strong incentive to exaggerate in this area. Additionally, tensions are currently very high on the Korean Peninsula due to the United States and South Korea engaging in their largest joint military exercise ever. South Korea has responded to North Korea’s announcement by warning the neighboring regime that it will need to accept the consequences of its reckless course of action.
