IS conflict: Iraqi general killed in suicide attack on base

A general in Iraq has been killed in a suicide attack carried out by Islamic State militants in the Anbar Province. The BBC reports that the militants were wearing Iraqi Army uniforms, which allowed them to gain entry to the base in order to carry out the attack. This appears to be part of a surge in IS bombings in Iraq – as 48 people died in explosions on Monday, and 70 died in an attack on Sunday.
