IS commander Shishani 'survived US air strike in Syria'

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has announced that an Islamic State commander named Tarkhan Batirashvili, also known as Omar Shishani, is still alive. The BBC reports that the U.S. announced that Shishani was killed in an air strike on Tuesday, but it appears that he survived – although he is badly wounded. Shishani is a top leader within the Islamic State, and is currently believed to be receiving medical treatment at an IS-controlled hospital in Raqqa.
