Iran entered into negotiations with Russia over the purchase of a new missile defense system. Reuters reports that Iran sought to purchase the S-300 surface-to-air missile defense system, and that it expects to receive it within two months. Iran was previously unable to acquire this technology due to sanctions, but those sanctions have been lifted in the wake of the nuclear deal.
