Comey to INSA: Privacy and Security “Crashing Into Each Other”

FBI Director James Comey was the guest of honor at an Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA) Leadership Dinner Wednesday in Alexandria, Virginia. INSA is an intelligence and national security organization representing leaders from the public, private, and academic sectors.

Director Comey’s opening remarks focused mainly on the FBI’s cyber strategy. He noted the Bureau recognizes it is behind the private sector when it comes to the pace of innovation in cyber and emphasized the need to recruit talented individuals. While conceding that the Bureau does not pay as well, he endorsed the choice of working for the agency for people who want “to do work with moral content.”
