Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei has called for the people of Iran to vote for a parliament that will stand strong against the West. Reuters reports that the election, the first since the nuclear deal was implemented, will be a contest between centrists and conservative hardliners. President Hassan Rouhani, who is aligned with the centrists, has criticized the hardliners for preventing moderates from running for election. This election will also be very important because the resulting parliament will elect the next Iranian Supreme Leader.
