Rescuers: Female Suicide Bombers Kill 22 at Nigerian Mosque

At least 22 people are dead following an attack on a mosque in the Nigerian city of Maiduguri. The New York Times reports that two female suicide bombers associated with Boko Haram were responsible for the attack. The headquarters for the Nigerian military effort to counter Boko Haram is also based in Maiduguri, which has not experienced a terrorist attack since December. There has been evidence that Nigeria’s current strategy to fight Boko Haram is working, but the group still controls a significant amount of territory in northeastern Nigeria.
