OPM's cybersecurity chief resigns in wake of massive data breach

Donna Seymour, the chief information officer for OPM, has resigned from her position. USA Today reports that Seymour was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight Committee, the chairman of which has been advocating for her resignation since last summer. Chairman Jason Chaffetz said Seymour’s resignation was a positive change for OPM, but House Democrats feel that Seymour has been made a scapegoat by Republicans. There are also concerns that this event will make it harder for the government to recruit top talent to fill IT positions.
