A police officer opened fire on his colleagues in the Kandahar province of Afghanistan. The New York Times reports that the attack, which left four dead and seven wounded, was part of an increasing number of insider attacks against the country’s security forces. The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack, which occurred a few days after the United States announced that it would be sending more military advisors to Afghanistan’s Helmand province.
