Rescue efforts are still underway in the Taiwanese city of Tainan in the wake of a magnitude 6.4 earthquake that struck the city on Saturday. CNN reports that 39 people were killed and 118 are still missing following the collapse of 11 buildings. The majority of the causalities were found in the Weiguan Jinlong high-rise, which was completely destroyed in the earthquake – potentially due to the use of substandard construction materials.
