Nations gather in Rome to discuss anti-Islamic State push, Libya

Twenty-three countries from the Global Coalition to Counter ISIL are meeting to discuss efforts to retake territory from the ISIL in Syria and prevent it from gaining more ground in Libya. According to Reuters, the meeting will focus on stabilizing areas liberated from ISIL control, countering the group’s ability to finance operations, and developing strategies to keep ISIL from establishing a strong presence in Libya. The meeting occurred while peace talks started between the Syrian government and its opposition in Geneva.
