
William P. Cromwell
William P. Crowell is a Partner at Alsop Louie Partners, a San Francisco Venture Capital company. He is also an Independent Consultant specializing in Information Technology, Security and Intelligence Systems. He served as Deputy Director of Operations of NSA from 1991 to 1994 running its core signals intelligence mission. In February 1994 he was appointed by President Clinton as the Deputy Director of NSA and served in that post until his retirement in September 1997. After 9/11 he served on the Markle Foundation Task Force on National Security in the Information Age, which published three landmark studies on Homeland Security and information sharing. He also served as Chairman of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Senior Advisory Group from 2007 through 2014 and on the Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Advisory Board.
