Philip R. Reitinger is the President & CEO of the Global Cyber Alliance, a non-profit organization headquartered in New York and London and dedicated to implementing solutions to systemic cyber risks and measuring the effect. He is on Twitter at @CarpeDiemCyber.

Formerly, Reitinger served as the President of VisionSpear LLC and as Sony’s Senior Vice President and global Chief Information Security Officer..

On March 11, 2009, Reitinger was appointed by U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano to serve as the Deputy Under Secretary for the National Protection and Programs Directorate (NPPD). On June 1, 2009 Reitinger also became the Director of the National Cybersecurity Center (NCSC). Earlier in his career, Reitinger was the Chief Trustworthy Infrastructure Strategist at Microsoft Corporation, the first Executive Director of the U.S. Department of Defense’s (DOD) Cyber Crime Center, and the Deputy Chief of the Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section at the U.S. Department of Justice. .

Reitinger is currently a member of the New York Governor’s Cyber Security Advisory Board and the American Bar Association’s Advisory Committee on Law and National Security. Reitinger was formerly the first Chairman of the Software Assurance Forum for Excellence in Code (SAFECode), the President of the IT-ISAC, a member of the Executive Committee of the IT SCC, a member of FEMA’s National Advisory Council, a member of NIST’s ISPAB, and a member of the CSIS Commission on Cybersecurity, which developed recommendations for the 44th Presidency.
