The Cyber War is Upon Us

John P. Carlin is a partner at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton and Garrison, LLP.  He is the former U.S. Acting Deputy Attorney General and a former chair of Morrison & Foerster's Global Risk and Crisis Management practice. He is author of Dawn of the Code War: America's Battle Against Russia, China and the Rising Global Cyber Threat. Carlin previously served as Assistant Attorney General for National Security, overseeing nearly 400 employees responsible for protecting the nation against terrorism, espionage, and cyber and other national security threats.  Carlin also served as Chief of Staff and Senior Counsel to Robert S. Mueller, III, former director of the FBI.

John Carlin brings a wealth of government experience to his new book, co-written with author Garrett M. Graff, Dawn of the Code War: America’s Battle Against Russia, China, and the Rising Global Cyber Threat.

Part of that government experience includes serving as the former Assistant Attorney General for National Security, as well as the former Chief of Staff and Senior Counsel to former FBI Director Robert Mueller.  Carlin also worked as a National Coordinator for DOJ’s Computer Hacking and Intellectual Property Program (better known as CHIP), and before that he served as Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia.
