Al Qaeda Assessment Off the Mark

Daveed Gartenstein-Ross is a senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies and the chief executive officer of the consulting firm Valens Global. He is also an adjunct assistant professor in Georgetown University's security studies program.

Throughout his two terms in office, President Barack Obama faced an array of challenges from both al Qaeda and ISIS.  In an interview with The Cipher Brief, Daveed Gartenstein-Ross, Senior Fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, explained that the Obama Administration’s evaluation of al Qaeda was “not correct.”
