Afghanistan Quagmire Leaves U.S. With No Good Options

Update: June 18, 2018 – Despite an incredibly rare ceasefire between the Afghan Government and the Taliban in observance of Eid al-Fitr, two deadly suicide bombings rocked Jalalabad over the weekend.  

Officials said the latest attack in eastern Nangarhar Province killed at least 18 people and wounded as many as 50 more.  The Afghan Government offered to extend the three-day ceasefire, but the offer was refused by Taliban leadership.
